Quick update before we move into May. Hope everyone had a lovely Easter. We have been super busy in the cat areas with lots of changes and preparation for winter months. We have had some awesome donations and have 4 new kennels and 3 more stand alone enclosures (incoming). These hold a maximum 2 cats comfortably and will mostly be used for singleton cats that don’t like other cats and even after several attempts are either bullying the others or are cats that simply get too anxious around other cats.
I have some new cats and kittens to add to the pages once I transfer the photos from my phone over.
I’ve also been busy caring for some sick cats and lost some of our aged long termer sanctuary cats that had terminal illnesses.
RIP to Clara, Remy, Soren and Possum. All were in their senior years and have been at the sanctuary for more than 10 years. Sadly, nothing the vets could do. I also lost my own precious girl Skye who at 15 years was my soulmate cat. I had her from a little baby. She got me through cancer in 2023 and was by my side from the minute I got home from hospital after my diagnosis. She lay next to my head on the pillow every night with her healing purrs sending me to sleep every night during my treatment. RIP Skye.. I still miss you so much.
Here’s hoping May brings lots of sunshine to dry up the cat enclosures and paddocks and brighten our hearts as we move closer to winter. I’ll be happy to see the flies, ants and mosquitoes go away too.
Catch up next week with new cats, photos and hopefully adoption updates.
